Joining OpX Solutions with 12 years mining experience, Ian has a focus on delivering production improvement projects through control systems. Ian's experience has been used by Rio Tinto's technology division to develop new exciting remote operations technologies changing the way iron ore is mined in the Pilbara. Reducing the barriers between remote sites and the Perth based support services is enabling collaboration and co-operation never experienced before in the mining industry.

Past projects include -

* Re-instating the nameplate capacity of a mine site by re-writing control systems logic in order to reduce downtime, reduce time wasting during fault finding due to non-standard and complex code.

* Construction of a Perth based Remote Operations Centre which aims to integrate and automate mining in the Pilbara region, leading to greater efficiency, lower production costs and more attractive working conditions.

* Develop technology solutions to integrate Pilbara based mining engineers into Perth, yet still maintain access to large data sets, real-time pit operations via CCTV and collaboration systems.
